#UpliftingThrifting: Help Build our Wall of Support

Our Op Shops provide affordable home wares, clothing, books, furniture and much more, raising funds with donated goods from our community. This also ensures unwanted goods are repurposed, reused or recycled, with 95% of our donated goods finding a new home rather than becoming landfill.

We open our doors each day to welcome regular and new customers – building friendships based on a common love for thrifting.

But it doesn’t stop there – funds generated in our stores go towards our purpose to deliver affordable, person-centred cancer care.

Join the Movement: Add Your Contribution to our Wall of Support

This month, you are invited to contribute to Cancer Wellness Support’s purpose in a fun and interactive way.

For every $35 spent in store, you can add a yellow piece of LEGO to the Op Shop’s Wall of Support, and be part of growing a wall of support for all who are living with cancer.

This collective effort will visually represent the number of therapy sessions provided to local people living with cancer and their families.

About Our Op Shops

Located at Katoomba and Penrith, our two Op Shops provide the much needed funds for Cancer Wellness Support, and collectively generate over $2 million annually.

In 2023/24, Cancer Wellness Support provided 6,849 subsidised complementary therapy treatments, holistic health education and lifestyle programs.

This is due to the generosity of our therapists, volunteers, customers and the strong community support we receive from the Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury regions.

In return, we are able to offer affordable, quality items and support to our community, and donate goods to other local charities in need.

We are proud to hold the Charitable Reuse Accreditation, ensuring our donations are handled in an ethical way, and doing our bit for the planet.

By purchasing enduring pieces from Cancer Wellness Support’s op shops, you actively contribute within a circular economy to benefit our people, community and environment, while also supporting local people and their families, living with cancer.
