Record Funds Raised for Cancer Wellness Support during Dry July!

Once again, our community stepped up to contribute to our Dry July fundraising campaign and collectively, we have achieved a phenomenal result.

In a full room brimming with laughter, great food and fun games – we held our Trivia night. Congratulations to the winning team, and to all who braved the winter chills, and came together to raise funds for all in our community who are living with cancer.

Throughout the whole month, our Op Shops held weekly raffles, sold planted pots and their infamous cake stalls (with their baked goods being snapped up within hours).

Our fundraising team grew to 23 supporters, doubling our fundraising team efforts and everyone committed to not just giving up alcohol for a month but to individually raise funds to benefit people living with cancer. This is why we Dry July.

Between our fundraising team, the generosity at our Op Shops, our fun-filled Dry July trivia night and raffle, and the continued support of our partners, we have demonstrated the true sense of community.

Whether you fundraised, participated in our events, made a donation, enjoyed baked goods or spread the word, every effort made a significant impact.

As of 31 July, we have raised:

Nothing is achieved without a solid team effort, and this result demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our clients, carers, and therapists.

With these funds, we’ll be able to provide:

  • 1,100 therapies ($38,500) to support both individuals and their families living with cancer.
  • 10 x comfortable chairs ($2,000)  to be used in group work, meditation and chair yoga
  • Additional bandaging and gel ($2,000) for our lymphoedema management program.

Much gratitude to everyone who got involved, and to our therapists and Client Services team who will be able to use these funds and remind our clients and carers that they are not alone.

We are able to continue receiving funds during August if you want to donate, and know every dollar raised goes to making a significant difference within our community.
